Step One:

When you first contact VRD Consulting, a general assessment is made of your volunteer needs. Questions will include:

¨ What is the mission of your organization?

¨ Who do you serve?

¨ What is the range of your services?

¨ Do you currently utilize volunteers? In What capacity?

¨ Do you currently have a staff person dedicated to volunteers?

¨ What are the volunteer roles within your agency?

¨ If you currently have a volunteer management system,

how are volunteers recruited? oriented? trained? managed? recognized?

¨ What do you feel your volunteer resource management strengths are?

VRD Consulting will take this information and develop a volunteer resource management agenda.  VRD Consulting will also develop a fee schedule that works within your organization’s financial resources.

Step Two:

VRD Consulting will set up a time that is convenient for you to visit your organization.  During this time, VRD Consulting will talk with your staff, and your volunteers, about your needs. After this initial visit, VRD Consulting will develop a volunteer resource management plan that meets with your needs and resources.

Step Three:

VRD Consulting will provide hands-on assistance with the many facets of effective volunteer resource management.  This may include: training of staff, development of tools and practices including volunteer recruitment, training, and resource management. This assistance will be provided on-site as well as via conference calls and e-mail. This may be a long-term commitment to your organization, or on an as-needed basis.

Step Four:

Once your volunteer resource management system is in place, VRD Consulting may provide on-going support as requested by your organization.
